This Is What I Want!

Well, well, well…I asked for a cowboy and they gave me a niiiiiiice belt buckle…

Cripes. Those hands! Guh!

So it’s up for pre-order at Fictionwise, but not yet at eHarlequin. I don’t really care where you buy it from, just that you do.

Here’s a little taste to tease you…

This Is What I Want
By Megan Hart
copyright Megan Hart
available Dec. 1 2007 from Spice Briefs
Excerpt: NOT FOR UNDER 18!!

This is what I want.

Your hands make circles around my ankles. They shackle me for but a moment before your fingertips move upward over the edge of bone, the dip and hollow of muscles and flesh. Over my calves and the prickly stubble of my knees, where they linger to stroke the soft, smooth underside. Those untouched places. Your fingers linger there, seeking creases.

Your thumbs move up the sun-warmed flesh of my thighs, which I part for you beneath summer’s bright golden light. Like the breeze that twitches the ends of my hair, your fingers drift along my skin. Moving higher.

This is what I want. You. Touching me.

You take the time to trace the faint white line, the place where once my flesh parted beneath the edge of a razor wielded by an unsteady hand. You don’t ask about this scar. You ask nothing, say nothing. You have no voice but that which I grant you, and so far I haven’t given you permission to speak.
You kneel in front of me, and this is where I like you. How I like you. On your knees, my body aligned for your worship and your hands smoothing their constant upward path.

This is what I want, your breath on my skin. Your fingers parting me. I want you to lick me as I stand over you, you upon your knees.

I want you to worship me.

Cowboys! Cybersex! Sexblogs! Dominance! Submission! Role-playing! Coffee! It’s all in there.

This Is What I Want

My next Spice Brief, This Is What I Want, will be released in December. That’s only a few short weeks away. Hard to believe it, I know, but it’s true. So, to tease and tantalize you, I figured I’d post a few excerpts.

So, here it is:

THIS IS WHAT I WANT EXCERPT 1

WARNING: Explicit language and content, not for readers under 18

* * * * *

Eve paused, watching the cursor blinking as fast as her heart was beating. She shifted in her chair, her thighs rubbing. She’d played the part of mistress, and of slave, but those had been stories. She’d never taken Puppetboy up on any of his offers of subservience. This was something new, uncharted. Delicious, but frightening.
She could log out now and blame computer problems, or make no excuses, simply refuse to answer his private messages any longer. She could, but she wasn’t going to. She was going to do as he’d said, to tell him what she wanted, only this time it would be for him alone and nobody else. She typed quickly, not in her blog but in a private email to him.

* * *

This is what I want.

You, in the shower. Steam wreathes your body. The sound of rushing water is almost loud enough to cover the sound of your groan. Almost.
You lean forward one hand on the tiles. The other’s on your cock. You close your eyes, lean into the spray. Head down, water streams over your back. Your muscles work as you fuck into your hand.

You’re thinking of me.

I want you to be thinking of me.

Your knees bend slightly as you rock forward. Your fingers curl on the tile. Your hand strokes, strokes, twisting around the head of your prick and down. Over and over you stroke yourself.

What are you thinking of? Am I on my knees in front of you? Do I take you inside my mouth, use my tongue, my teeth, my lips? Do I swallow your cock? Are you wishing your hand was mine, jerking you? Are you imagining me on my hands and knees as you fuck me from behind?

You know best how to touch yourself. How to hold off the pleasure building from the base of your gut. Your balls tighten. You push forward, harder. Faster. Your head ducks lower until the water pounds the place between your shoulders I like to kiss.

Your hand slows. Your breath is harsh. You’re sweating from the heat of the water and your arousal. I know too well the taste of you, that salt-musk flavor. You tip your head back to let the water wash over your face and down your chest. Over your cock still gripped in your fist.

When you come, is mine the name on your lips? Mine the face in your mind?

* * *

It took him a long time to reply, all the way until the next morning, but when he did, it was worth the wait. Three words that made her grin all day long.

Yes. It was.

Look for This Is What I Want from Spice Briefs, December 2007!

Moving forward.

I’ve reached the point in The Stand where something bad is being set up to happen. I’d forgotten about it. And now I don’t want to finish reading. See, I know what happens (it’s one of my favorite books, after all.) And I don’t want to lose my favorite character again. Right now, he’s fine. A few pages from now, he’s dead.

:(

I have my own book to write today, though, and so far nobody’s dying.

Every book is different, ya know, they all start off the same, sort of, with an idea, but then they grow and change and after a few weeks I can’t even remember what it was like to not know what was going on. I wrote one chapter yesterday and I started getting a good feeling about the character, and all the twists and turns. I’ll say this, SWITCH is definitely going to be a twisty, turny book. Bendy (in honor of Dean Winchester, who likes it bendy!)

And this is good.

It’s also intimidating, so what have I been doing? Despite my best intentions? I’ve been looking at advertising rates. I have to do that, though. Tempted comes out in January and I really need to get cracking on ads. I’m using different places this time. Sexier places. Susie Bright’s blog, a great website called The Erotic Woman and a magazine called Scarlet if I can afford it. :)

And for some of those I have to do some cover art resizing which means I have to go downstairs to the PC (horrors!!!) because I don’t have a good banner making/photo program for the Mac, which is ridiculous but I don’t have Photoshop and it intimidates me. I tried the trial and simply couldn’t learn how to do it fast enough to suit me.

Anyhoodle.

I need to write another chapter today SPANK SPANK!

And because someone wants to know phrases to talk dirty in bed:

Guy to girl: “Show me how to do exactly what you want.” — It’s not dirty but I bet you she’ll really like it.

My new favorite song is Empty Walls by Serj Tankian who is my new music boyfriend.

But back to the bendy book — I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure this book is going to be really convoluted and layered and not exactly a mystery but sort of like…a puzzle, with pieces that all have to fit together exactly right. And I don’t know why Jack is in there again, but he is. Well, ok, I love Jack and I can never, never have enough Jack. But also, Lane DeMarco who is going to be in my upcoming Spice Brief, This Is What I Want (title might change) is also in it, and THAT was a real surprise! But I love it! Because Lane DeMarco is 6 and a half feet of yummy and how can you not love a guy in a cowboy hat?

And it’s Tuesday, but I won’t think about what that means or doesn’t mean.

Goodbye, all, I shall endeavor to resist the internet today.

Late night, early morning

So I stayed up until 3 am to finish This Is What I Want (will finish today) — but didn’t get to sleep until close to 4. Could’ve been the late night coffee. Could’ve been stress. Could’ve been the buzz saw I sleep with. Yeah, that last thing.

So I got up today with the final AHAHA! plan in place, I know where I’m going and what needs to happen, and I can pound this sucker out today, if I get my butt in gear. Not as easy to do with the kidlets at home as I’d like but meh. I’ll manage.

It’s good work if you can get it, huh?

:)

Butt. Kicked.

I got the kick in the butt I needed.

This is me on the phone with my agent, ML Schwartz of the Belfrey Literary Agency, as she gives me more good news regarding sales. This time, to Spice Briefs. :)

Gotta love it. Also. Gotta finish it!

This Is What I Want…

He was killing her. Over and over, every day, Lane Demarco was killing her, and he didn’t even know it.

This is what I’ve been doing the past few days…

Last week was pretty much a loss due to stomach flu, but I did manage to color my hair which is always a good time. I got smart this time and wore clothes into the shower when I rinsed so I didn’t end up with blue/purple legs and feet (and other parts.) It worked out really well! I’ll have to remember to do that next time. I probably won’t do it again until after the summer, though, since it’s just not worth it during the summer when I’m out in the sun and it bleaches everything out.

I also did a lot of reading. My books from RT finally came a while ago and I now am the proud owner of a TBR pile.

I devoured Lois Greiman’s Taming the Barbarian and really enjoyed it. I mean…hello, brawny Scottish warrior from the past? Yeah, ok. I’m there. This was my first read from Greiman, and I really like her voice. She’s got some really delightful dialogue and the love scene…grrrrowl! Keep in mind that I write really, really graphic stuff, so when I can get tingly from something that’s less graphic, I’m always happy! I also picked up her Tempting the Wolf which I haven’t finished yet but have liked so far. I liked the hero even MORE than in TTB, for one thing. I can’t wait to find out what happens! But I misplaced it and started a new book (I read more than one book at a time, anyone else do that?) so I will finish this one this week.

I also read Joey Hill’s Natural Law …jaysus. GAWD what a good book. I was looking for something with femdom in it…what I’ve read in my travels has left a distinct hole in that place inside that’s looking for some really really good, satisfying feminine domination fiction. Well, Hill gave it to me and tenfold with Natural Law. Not only did she give me exquisite prose and immensely satisfying femdom fiction, she gave me a sweet and tender love story AND a serial killer!!! MAN, oh, man oh man. For those who aren’t comfortable with BDSM, this book won’t be for you. All in all, this book was a fantastic read and I’m so glad I picked it up. It gave my stilletto-shoed, whip-cracking little heart palpitations. :)

I also finished Jackie Kessler’s Hell’s Belles . Oh, what fun! What a great, fast-paced and sexy read! I laughed aloud at some of the demon Jezebel’s antics, I really did. Looking forward to the next one.

I finished Sena Jetar Naslund’s Abundance . It was a freebie I picked up at RT at one of the parties (traded LD for it, in fact, I think). I’d read her Ahab’s Wife previously and liked it well enough, but it’s not a book I’d have picked up in the store. Yet I really liked it and I’m glad I got it!

I started reading My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding but so far…meh. It’s not holding my attention. Could be I’ve got lots of other stuff to get to, could be that I just am not into the the book’s theme, or whatever. Not sure. But I’ll keep it on hand for when I need a quick story fix.

I still have TONS of books on my pile, but that’s fine since I’m going on vacation twice this summer and plan to do mucho reading.

Also:

Went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Baily Circus. We go every year and this year, yay! Bello was back! Oh, I do love Bello!

Hmm…what else?

Oh, yeah. We saw POTC 3. Yeah, three hours of my life I’ll never get back and yeah, yeah, whatever I know that will make me unpopular with my friends, but sweet knobbly pete…seriously. No love there from me. I didn’t hate it. I was left so meh about it I can’t even be bothered to hate it. I can’t even be bothered to dissect it. Watching POTC was like eating oatmeal. It was okay while I was doing it, but I’m not really hankering for more.

Then today we went to a picnic where the entertainment was Chris Ivey …can I just tell you how much I think he rocks? This is the third time I’ve seen his show. He’s great. He’s faaaabulous!

Oh, yeah, and I had my book signing, can’t forget that!

On the writing front, not much going on. Waiting to hear back on a few projects. I’ve only got a few more days before school releases my spawn and I go back and forth between getting started on something new and just catching up on stuff around the house. I mean…it’s not like I’ll finish anything before they’re home and the whole plan was to NOT have anything on the plate over the summer. But I think tomorrow I’ll hit the coffee shop just because I haven’t been there in forever and I have to go to the post office anyway, and I’ll finish up This is What I Want.
Because I want to. :)

And then at the end of this week it’s off to NYC for the Book Expo, woo hoo!

And summer’s coming! woo hoo woo hoo!

Room mate got v. exciting news. Yay, room mate!

Dinner.

Was spooned and groped by chapter president. *highlight of retreat so far!*

Watched season finale Supernatural. Second viewing for me. DEAAANNNNN!!!!! *loves*

Went out to celebrate room mate’s success!

Home.

Bed.

Well, bed in a few minutes anyway. I’d post a photo but I didn’t bring my cable to download the pics. Darn.

Bed now…writing tomorrow. Goal…20 pages? That’s doable. If I stay off the ‘net.

Curse you, free wireless!
