Blurb: Vampire Hunter Minx Rodriguez decides to mix a little business with pleasure when she heads to Mexico to celebrate El Dia de los Muertos. She’s hot on the trail of the vampire who not only took her hostage and tortured her but also killed her friends and family.
Connor Bell finds himself in love with a Vampire Hunter who’s skipped town without notice — much like he did to her just two weeks before. He heads to Mexico to find her and make things right.
Even as they work through their problems and plan a feast to celebrate the lives of those they’ve lost to the Oathbreakers, the threat remains. A Hunter’s job is never done and there’s a job to do in Mexico. The question remains as to whether Minx and Connor can survive what’ll be asked of them both.

How the story came about (Misty’s version!)Victoria and I were sitting around in the backyard and talking about anthology projects. We agreed the shapeshifting had seen many werewolves and cougars, even jaguars, but where were the poor housecats? We got a kick out of thinking up domestic animals as shape shifters and our anthology was born. We needed a third person and thought of Vicky, who really stepped up to the challenge when she was given a whopping two weeks to come up with a story and write it. And nary a duck or potbellied pig in sight. Believe me when I say that is some accomplishment.* * * * *
Vicky Burkholder
As her alter-ego, Vicky has multiple homes all over the universe. She looks human - for the most part - but when she starts writing about characters being able to move things or flicking fire from their fingertips, or changing the course of rivers, people tend to get a little freaked out. She found the one guy out there in the universe who loves her for who she is. They’ve been together forever and raised four wonderful (now) adults and are owned by a cat, Pixel. She has served on the board of directors for several RWA chapters and currently serves on the PASIC Board. Her career includes work as a technical writer/editor, a stringer for the local newspaper, and an editor and copy editor for four e-publishers. At various times in her life, she has been a teacher, a secretary, a short-order cook, a computer specialist, a DJ, and a librarian.
Who’s Your Alpha
While growing up, Sunny Clark never felt like she fit in with the others in her school. She was always a little overweight, always a little too independent, and a shape shifter. She was also in love with her neighbor, David Maxwell. But he was one of the in crowd, and she wasn’t. When she returns for a reunion, many things have changed, but not her feelings for David. Unfortunately, the alpha female doesn’t want Sunny around and sets out to make sure she knows it. But Sunny is no longer the shy little puppy she once was and the pecking order is about to change.

Misty Simon
Misty Simon loves to tell stories, especially the ones she types on her computer. Sharing her quirky sense of humor through her full-figured heroines is a dream come true and she hopes readers take something away with them from every story. Misty recently relocated to Central Pennsylvania with her husband Daniel and her daughter Noelle, where she is currently finishing her next book while fixing up their new (to them) house from the 1820s.
Out of the Storm
Sarah James’ quiet, almost solitary life changes when she rescues a wet, bedraggled cat out of a raging storm. But he always seems to disappear without explanation, only to return at the oddest times. Is he really lost, or does he have a secret life outside her apartment walls?
Trenton Cutlass has been forced to roam ever since he was cursed into the form of a fat, tabby cat after dusk. No one has ever taken him in…until Sarah. Suddenly, breaking the curse is more important than ever, or he’ll have to abandon the lovely Sarah forever.
* * * * *
Victoria Smith
Victoria Smith wrote her first romance at the age of nine and hid the story from her brothers to avoid being teased. Her mother recently found and gave her the folded notebook paper and, if you’re lucky, one day she’ll reveal who the hero in that story was. Now, she writes dark paranormal, romantic suspense and women’s fiction - always with a happy, or at least satisfying, ending. Visit her blog at http://vickismith.blogspot.com/
Sheltered
Drugged and lost after escaping a deranged kidnapper, Dane Masters is stuck as his hereditary alternate form. While wandering the streets on four wobbly paws, he’s taken in by vet tech Izzy Burnett. Once he has regained his strength, and his memories, Dane realizes he has found his predestined mate. But will he have time to convince Izzy before the kidnapper turns killer?

…well, I guess it depends on what I need them for. :)
Been listening to Katy Perry’s cover of Use Your Love. Heh. I liiiiiiiiike it. Also her song Ur So Gay makes me smile.
So, been cleaning off my desk, organizing photos, working on some short fiction, doing some business related stuff that’s not writing but is necessary. 2008 is fast approaching and I’m going to be ready for it. I have three books I need to write in 2008. All three are already started. One is already contracted.
I am prepared to face 2008 with courage and conviction and discipline. I will do the work. I will take the time. I will be there for my family and friends and I will be there for myself. I will take more pictures, make more videos, read more books, dance more and sing more karaoke. I will write like I don’t have a reputation. I will kiss that man I live with when he least expects it. I will pursue new projects with determination and I will keep my house clean. Ok, forget that last one. It ain’t gonna happen.
2007 was a pretty damned good year for me. Thank you to everyone who helped make it so.
Things I would like to accomplish while my children are home with school: repaint my bathroom, paint my upstairs hall, paint my bedroom and dressing room. (Pretty sure it’s not going to happen, but I’d like to do it anyway.) I’m going with a chocolate brown, I think, with pale teal towels. In the bathroom. I don’t know. I would like to find a reason to use my new Superman shower curtain rings, but since I don’t have a shower curtain, something tells me that’s not going on in the bathroom.
Ahem.
You know what would be a GREAT birthday present for me? A stripper who starts off dressed as Superman. I’m just saying. My birthday is months away, so…if you’re a stripper and you look like Superman (I’m not picky, actually, you only have to sorta look like him) please make plans to be working for me on my birthday.

You ever get that surreal feeling? You know, when you look around and think you might be dreaming everything? That’s how I feel guest blogging on Megan’s blog. Because Megan is amazing–her books have astounded me, touched me, and sent me to the shower (set to cold, of course). Her characters are rich and inviting, and so real you squirm when you read them. I’m on pins and needles for her next Spice release!
So I’m doubly blessed to tell you about my little book here at Megan’s house, and big thanks to Megan for inviting me over. I’ll try not to get food on the carpet.
Anyway, I’m here to talk about Triple X, my first full length novel release. Here’s a blurb:
After losing her mother to The Reaper, the last thing Abby Conner wants to do is worry about her job. But when infertility rates begin to rise, she is forced to wonder–did the avian flu do something to our DNA?
Late hours in the lab with her closest friend Jordan lead to a relationship she never expected. Especially when Jordan introduces her to Edan, his friend and polyamory activist. Together, the three of them combat an oppressive government and a medical mystery to create hope and love in the midst of fear. But can Abby fight her own fears and learn to love two men?
Triple X was a blast to write–science, government coverups, evil presidents, and best of all, two men for Abby to play with! There is much naughtyness to be had, and some good old fashioned drama, too. Like I always say: Triple X, it’s not what you think, but it is dirty! JERR gave it 4 stars, saying “…Triple X is a unique, intellectual and memorable
story for fans that enjoy reading something a little bit different.”
Find excerpts of Triple X and other stories at my blog, along with my assorted ramblings and a really hot new cover.
And thanks again, Megan :)

March 9, 2007 - 19 Adar, 5767
It’s Friday. My house is sort of clean. Sort of. I might do some writing today, which will be a bonus. But before I do that, here’s my Friday Shout Out:
Chased by my good friend Lauren Dane is out now from Samhain Publishing! I got my copy already and of course can’t wait to read it…
Brianna’s Navy Seal by my good friend Natalie J. Damschroder is also available! If you like action-adventure romance, check it out!
Also, Reignited, by my friend Misty Simon has made its way into the world! Give her a look!
Yeah, they’re my friends. So what? As they said in Shallow Grave, if you can’t trust your friends, well, what then?
What I just finished reading:
Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer.
Wow. What can I say about this book except that it scared the behayzus out of me and made me cry. I had no idea how she could possibly end it, and I was so glad she did it the way she did. On a side note, when I was fifteen or so I wrote “book” called Alone In The Garden about the end of the world, told in diary style from the viewpoint of a teenage girl. Similar idea. Pfeffer’s book’s much better, though mine wasn’t bad, all things considered. Check it out if you like post Apocalyptic stuff.
What I’m currently listening to over and over and over and over (and then one more time):
Jason Manns
(do not worry Joshua Radin you are still my favorite music boyfriend)
But I’m listening to Jason Manns right now because he was sooo sweet — he sent me a signed copy of his CD and here’s what he wrote: “To Megan, thanks so much for your support!! Keep writing and I will too! All my best, Jason Manns”
Mrs. Manns, I salute you. You raised a very well-mannered son. :)
Seriously, isn’t that that sweet? He’s very talented too, and quite cute. Check out his songs on Myspace — you can buy them there or from iTunes. If you live out in LA, go check him out Sundays at the Scorpion. I’m envious if you get to go, because I’d love to see him play live. Unless he comes out to the East Coast, though, I doubt I’ll have the chance.
My personal favorite song is Without You. It’s a sweet, heartfelt love song — and once again I have faith in the world. I don’t care what anyone says, men are not emotional voids. This song is just one example of that. Favorite line: “Because you fill my heart with joy, and ’cause you made a man out of this boy.”
Umm…*fans face*
I also really like the song Journey (which my dear friend Natalie says reminds her of me. Apparently I am rife with emotional scars. I’m shocked, really.) Favorite line: “I’m alone but I’m not lonely, I’m with the only person that knows me, I’m armed with my guitar and I’m armed with emotional scars, and my journey’s underway…” And it’s got some KICKA$$ cello.
And I absolutely could not forget to give the shout out to Crazy Love. This was the first song I heard him sing and I loved it so much I had to find it right away on iTunes…so I actually bought this song twice. Once from iTunes and once when it came on the CD he signed for me! I like Jason’s version so much better than the Van Morrison one. I can sing along with it, too, a bonus for me. (I suck, but I love to sing.)
Anyway, if you like guitars and sweet songs, give Jason Manns a listen. He’s a nice guy, too, and I hope he’s as successful as he wants to be. ANYONE who sends me a signed CD gets lots of love from me, but on top of that, I really do like the music, too.
Yeah, he growls. Ahem. Listen to Perfect Spot and you’ll know what I mean. Be still my heart!
And finally…
when they make it so freaking easy, how can you resist? If you haven’t check out Supernatural yet I really must insist you do. Really. I must insist. Scary!Cute!Angst!Woe!Love!Charm!Purple Nurples!Snark!Bitchface!Classic Rock!
See? You absolutely can’t resist. Buy or rent Season One. Gorge yourself on the splendor that is Supernatural. Then go for Season Two. Dooooo eeeeet. And yes, in case you hadn’t guessed, Friday Shout Out will probably always include some sort of Supernatural squee. Because that’s the way I work.
Happy Friday, world!

February 23, 2007 - 5 Adar, 5767
Since Friday is normally my day to do errands and clean my house, it’s also a good day for me to do something fun on my blog. My good friend Lauren Dane does a Friday Book Talk, but I’m going to do a Friday Shout Out, instead!
Welcome to my first one!

A cryptic note and a magical box direct her to the fabled city of Akashan’te at the six sister stars. The fate of the entire world rides on her ability to find the city before conjunction.
A giant of a man, Daniel is determined to guard her and love her no matter what the outcome. On their journey, they encounter friends who benefit from Rowyn’s abilities, enemies who will stop at nothing to control her, and love that will last a lifetime and beyond.
Taking Chase from my good friend and fellow Maverick AuthorLauren Dane!
