Well, phew. That was the longest 10k I’ve ever written, I think, but Road Trip is all done! Road Trip is a short story for eHarlequin.com and will be available as their FREE READ in January. So look for it then! Very exciting. Anyway, it took so long not because it was a particularly long piece but because of the formatting into short chapters…see, one chapter will be posted each day for 20 days. So I had to write 20 chapters. That’s about two pages apiece.
And of course, by the time I got to the end, I figured out what I wanted to have happen in the beginning, so I’ll have to go back and polish it all up and fix it up purty.
And then it’s on to my proposal for Risky Business (joint project with Lauren Dane) and oooo, that’s a fun ‘un.
And after that, I hope I’ll have to do something else! Otherwise I’ll just do what I want to do, which will be finish Entertaining Angels…

line of the day: “I’m a handyman. Freelance. I fix things.” Sometimes, he broke them, too.
Done with the rough draft of the proposal.Going to polish it up to send it out!

So the plan today is to work like heck until noon, then clean and cook the rest of the day. (Big doin’s tonight as it’s erev Yom Kippur and we will have a big meal.)
Yet, curse you, Brandon Routh, with your hair and your eyes and that “Can I mow your lawn to earn money to go to Paris with the band” smile, because I just wasted a whole bunch of time looking at pictures of you. Yeah, yeah, Superman. Get out of my head.
Okay. I’m actually TURNING OFF MY INTERNET. Yes. OFF. And getting to work. I’ll update with my progress when I am done.

words: “If you know anything about me at all,” Joel said, “You should know I can’t lie.”
“Bullshit. Everyone can lie. Most people do. If nobody lied the world would fall to pieces.”
His smile infuriated her. “That would be true. This world would fall to pieces.”
Writing, like anything else, takes practice. And when you get out of practice, like I did, it can be hard to get back into it. I wrote 21 pages today, after an average of 5 a day for months and months. It wasn’t that I had writer’s block. I just didn’t have an attention span. Or something.

…seven kinds of fantastic and three sorts of awesome.
Of course, once I got there, my week got screwed and now it’s Friday and the weekend and next weekend is mostly holiday, which means I’ll be getting ready for the holiday or stressing about having to get ready for it, which means I only have two days to work next week.
And you know what that means. I have, in my head…Two days. I can write two chapters.
Shyeah.
But I finished chapter one! Whee! And I feel motivated and stuff, well…at least I feel motivated when I know I can’t be working. Pffft.

And why, why do you hang around?
So…despite the bitching and moaning and self-doubt and fear and angst and woe and general bleakness…
Despite that…
I wrote today.
And then later, I vacuumed. And as I did, it happened.
AHA! AHAHA! YESSSSS! There it is. There it was. What would happen next.
Now, I only have to get it from my head and into the computer. Only that, and a little more.
