 So I’m working on Pleasure and Purpose and I’m really enjoying it, and I thought I would share a snippet. You won’t know what it’s about or what’s going on, but you can maybe just enjoy it anyway. Alaric’s first-hand experience with the Sisters of Solace was limited to two, exactly. Stillness and Honesty were both sent to soothe his friends and both had stayed. If that was what his friends had in mind for him, he wanted no part of it. “Love.” He sneered the word and stood at his full height so she’d have to tip her head back to look at him. So she could not possibly look down on him. “Is that your intent? To make me love you so I find peace and help you fill your bedamned Holy Quiver? You wish to use me to help you fulfill some stupid prophecy? And you’ll do what it takes, won’t you,” he added without giving her a chance to answer. “I know how you work.” Alaric staggered at the force of his words, still unsteady on his feet despite the cold bath. His gut churned and head pounded in sick-making counterpoint to his heart beat. He could taste herb on the back of his tongue and below it the flavor of worm, but below that, even more terrible and lovely, the scent and taste of XX clung to his senses as though his blood had been turned to it. His fingers curled again to scratch at his belly, where the sleeping dragon was waking. He needed more XX. It would soothe the itch and the ache and take him away into darkness better than any woman ever could. “I will never love you,” he spat out. “No matter what you do.” All traces of amusement slid from her expression and all warmth left her tone. “I do none of this for love, Alaric. I do this as my duty and my purpose and on occasion my pleasure as well, but I do none of this for love.” XX is an as-yet-unnamed drug of some sort. Bad stuff. And I’m getting back to it! Wheeee! Oh.  Elevator Eye Fucking Today I saw this video posted up over on the Maverick Authors Blog (courtesy of Cherie Whitefeather). I like Billy Wirth (a lot) but I hadn’t seen this video. So I started watching it. And… Whoa. Billy Wirth, wearing black, eye-fucking someone in an elevator? My elevator issues aside, that has to be one of the most fucking sexy…god…standing in each corner, not looking, looking…but knowing the other person is looking…that awareness!!!! And then he follows her out but of course they don’t go to the same room, he just goes down the hall…and she doesn’t dare LOOK but she knows HE is looking. I need a cold shower. Srsly. That is some sexy fucking shit. That video literally made my stomach drop like I was on a roller coaster and my spit all dried up and I couldn’t swallow and I felt all flushed and hot and tingly. What would happen if we kissed? WHO HAS NEVER WONDERED THAT!?!!!!!!!  Which means I stay up late to work. So tonight I’m up. I just ran through STRANGER (out in JAN 09) again and subbed my final copy edits. I also ran through a crit for someone. I am tired, very tired, now. Oh, and now I have to: Finish edits on Switch Before I can get started on anything else. Whoa. Better get cracking. I did start edits and I have been writing. Oh, and here’s a funny story. I come home to a washer and drier full of laundry. Nice. At least they thought to do laundry. And the house was clean (which, let me tell you, has not historically been the case when I go away, at least not until recent times.) So that man I live with was good while I was gone. Very good. He says “by the way I replaced all the batteries for you.” Me: “….” I haven’t yet tested the new batteries. Just sayin’. But it was awfully nice of him to think about it, wasn’t it? My name is Christopher Howell and I’m a professional model/actor/dancer. I attend college, work for UPS, and work towards becoming famous each and every day.
This year’s Mr. Romance competition was your second — did you find it different attending RT this year from last? If so, how? Did you prepare differently for the event? I thought it was the same, but I was more prepared. The main steps I took this year. Well, I worked out a little more. I tend to go by the theory that if people like you for who you are, than your going to do great in this life. If they don’t like you, then change what they don’t like about you for the better….never worse :D I tend to think everyone is a winner and should be given at least one chance at doing whatever it is they desire.
So tell me what it’s like, living in my pocket. O, it’s great fun. I find M&M’s in there all the time! Not the regular ones, but the ones with peanuts in the middle! So much joy!
You’re a very fine dancer — do you take classes? I’ve taken a few, but mostly learn from random people and living my life. The more I go out and do things, the more talents I tend to pick up. I guess you could say I’m a magnet and everything in this world has some type of metal in it that draws me towards it, or the other way around.
Whatever you want to make! Just kidding. I like just about everything. Variety is the spice of life!
What do you want to be when you grow up? Someone who loves what they do for a living, and I want to have a great family. Lots of kids and all the material items that anyone could only dream to have.
