line of the day:As much as I might want to grab ahold of Jerry’s ears and ride him like a rollercoaster, though, random, careless sex was absolutely not part of my plan.

Moving forward.

I’ve reached the point in The Stand where something bad is being set up to happen. I’d forgotten about it. And now I don’t want to finish reading. See, I know what happens (it’s one of my favorite books, after all.) And I don’t want to lose my favorite character again. Right now, he’s fine. A few pages from now, he’s dead.

:(

I have my own book to write today, though, and so far nobody’s dying.

Every book is different, ya know, they all start off the same, sort of, with an idea, but then they grow and change and after a few weeks I can’t even remember what it was like to not know what was going on. I wrote one chapter yesterday and I started getting a good feeling about the character, and all the twists and turns. I’ll say this, SWITCH is definitely going to be a twisty, turny book. Bendy (in honor of Dean Winchester, who likes it bendy!)

And this is good.

It’s also intimidating, so what have I been doing? Despite my best intentions? I’ve been looking at advertising rates. I have to do that, though. Tempted comes out in January and I really need to get cracking on ads. I’m using different places this time. Sexier places. Susie Bright’s blog, a great website called The Erotic Woman and a magazine called Scarlet if I can afford it. :)

And for some of those I have to do some cover art resizing which means I have to go downstairs to the PC (horrors!!!) because I don’t have a good banner making/photo program for the Mac, which is ridiculous but I don’t have Photoshop and it intimidates me. I tried the trial and simply couldn’t learn how to do it fast enough to suit me.

Anyhoodle.

I need to write another chapter today SPANK SPANK!

And because someone wants to know phrases to talk dirty in bed:

Guy to girl: “Show me how to do exactly what you want.” — It’s not dirty but I bet you she’ll really like it.

My new favorite song is Empty Walls by Serj Tankian who is my new music boyfriend.

But back to the bendy book — I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure this book is going to be really convoluted and layered and not exactly a mystery but sort of like…a puzzle, with pieces that all have to fit together exactly right. And I don’t know why Jack is in there again, but he is. Well, ok, I love Jack and I can never, never have enough Jack. But also, Lane DeMarco who is going to be in my upcoming Spice Brief, This Is What I Want (title might change) is also in it, and THAT was a real surprise! But I love it! Because Lane DeMarco is 6 and a half feet of yummy and how can you not love a guy in a cowboy hat?

And it’s Tuesday, but I won’t think about what that means or doesn’t mean.

Goodbye, all, I shall endeavor to resist the internet today.

So this is it.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I start the new book tomorrow. I wrote the first couple lines a few weeks ago but tomorrow I actually have to get started.

*passes out*

I really should go to bed, now. Get some sleep. My stomach is churning. I’m nervous and yet excited, like the night before Prom. The big question is, am I gonna give it up to the star football player or am I gonna go home on the handlebars of the school geek with the playing cards click-clacking in his tires?

Good question.

I think I know my character’s name. I know some things about her. But after that it’s the vast wide wonderland of WHAT IF.

The new adventure begins.

Here we go…

M

PS…there’s nothing in it about Supernatural or Dean Winchester having sex. And I’m STILL not Megan Padalecki. But if you’re here about erotic online reads or free erotic stories, you’ll get one from me in late January at eHarlequin…and if you’re looking for kinky things to do in bed, I’m sorry to fail you. But welcome, welcome, one and all!

To the person who came here looking for Megan Hart, though, THANK YOU! :) It’s so nice to know someone’s stumbling across this blog who’s actually looking for meeeeeee!

PPS — If you are Jensen Ackles please don’t read any of my Dean Winchester Sex posts. Not that I’ve made any. Because, you know…I don’t write that sort of thing. (If you’re Jared Padalecki, though, g’head and read.)

Bwah!

Look, read and write what you like. There’s room in the world for all of us. I applaud and support the right of anyone to read and write books that PLEASE them, by god, because I do it, too. I write books that make ME happy. (And they are usually not books that close the bedroom door, but so?)

I don’t go around saying that just because I like chocolate cake you shouldn’t eat coconut cream pie. I, in fact, loathe and despise coconut cream pie, but I would never dream of telling anyone they suck for eating it. And you know what? sometimes I like chocolate cake; sometimes I like key lime pie.

We don’t all have to lurve the same things.

And if you’re going to point your fingers at someone else’s work and call it trash and say it lacks imagination, perhaps it would be best if your own work wasn’t self-published with reviews made by yourself and family members…NOT because those two factors automatically mean the book is bad by any means, just that’s how it would appear to a casual observer.

If you’re going to tell other people their shoes don’t match their belts, maybe you should really clean that taco sauce of your blouse, is what I’m saying.

Otherwise you really just look like a whining, pouting blow hard and you lose all credibility.

And in fact, since I lost my earlier rant, I’m reposting this.

M

PS– my blog got wonky and I found I had to delete my previous three posts (I blame Ryan Huston, that devil — his video clogged up the works) so I’m saying this, now.

what the heck

Ok, so I had a really great rant and a nifty video blog (not mine, it was a video for Ryan Huston) and then my blog stopped loading. So, delete, delete. And then the blog came back!

Sorry gang, you missed my rant and a really good vid.

M

PS– and now this post won’t show up…editing, editing…verra strange!

Ok, outing myself

*sigh*

It’s come to it, finally. I didn’t want to do this, because, ya know, it’s hard to admit something like this and all…but I really think the world needs to know it.

I WRITE FICTION.

It is not autobiographical.

I haven’t lived my characters’ lives.

I’m sorry to disappoint anyone who believes otherwise, but thank you, thank you, thank you so much for believing so much in my characters you assume they were real. Very flattering. I’m honored. Thank you, truly.

FICTION. I WRITE FICTION.

Even fiction inspired by real life or real people is NEVER NEVER NEVER exactly the way it happened in real life. Not ever. That’s the beauty of fiction. I control the horizontal AND the vertical.

Okay, I’m outed.

And out…

I’m wide awake and so alive…

 …ringing like a bell!

Ok, so I love my computer, right? Except it keeps having kernel panics and it’s really pissing me off.

It’s raining today and I have only about 3k to write on a new short story for Spice Briefs, and I really hope to finish.

I just got three boxes delivered and I haven’t opened them yet but it’s going to be fun.

And, because the story for Spice relates to an upcoming release (Catch and Release, don’t know when it’s coming out and the title might change, but it’s the male escort/funeral director book) I’ve been reading Catch and Release to make sure a few details are correct.

And I came across this line: Besides, I didn’t feel right sending him off in the rain on a motorcycle with a pizza.

And it really cracked me up! in the rain, on a motorcycle with a pizza. Think about it! How is that not a funny vision?

Bwah!

Also, this book features Jack (you might remember him from Dirty) and hawt damn but I lurve me some Jack. And Saaaaaammy…a long, tall guitar player with an earring who’s Dan (from Dirty)’s brother.

In other news, don’t forget to enter my video contest! Check out my website for details. The winner will be picked by the end of November, so get your entries in now! WIN WIN WIN an Amazon.com gift certificate, signed books, good swag!

I’m getting insanely excited for RT as well.
