I pay strangers to sleep with me. I have my reasons...

But they're not the ones you expect. For starters, I'm a funeral director taking over my dad's business. Not exactly the sort of person you'd expect to fork over cash for the lust and urgency only live, skin-to-skin contact can create. Looking at me, you wouldn't have a clue I carry this little secret so close it creases up like the folds of a fan. Tight. Personal. Ready to unravel in the heat of the moment.

Unsurprisingly, my line of work brings me face to face with loss. So I decided long ago that paying for sex would be one of the best (and arousing) ways to save myself from the one thing that would eventually cut far too deep.

But Sam was a mistake. Literally. I signed on to "pick up" a stranger at a bar, but took Sam home instead. And now that I've felt his heat, his sweat and everything else can I really go back to impersonal?

Let's just hope he never finds out about my other life...

 TRIVIA

Stranger was originally called Catch and Release. It was also orginally the proposed third book in my first contract with Spice, but the idea for another book took fire in my brain and I ended up writing it, instead. It was called Moments of Disarray, then Perfect, and eventually became Tempted. Catch and Release became Stranger!

Sam Stewart is Dan Stewart's younger brother.

Jack originally appeared in Dirty.

Jack is based on a real person I met twice. Both times he ended up naked. I did not. Let your imaginations do the work, m'kay? Oh and yes, he did have the piercings. For real.

Sam sounds a lot like a combination of Joshua Radin and Thom Lyons.

Sam is NOT named after the character of Sam Winchester -- I was already working on the book/had the idea for Dan's brother/ before I became a Supernatural freak. In fact, while working on Stranger, I didn't like Sammy Winchester at all. But something happened during Season Two and suddenly Sam became taller and bigger and broader. So did Jared Padalecki. I did name the character of Jared after JPad, but though it really might seem so, Sam isn't named after Sammy. Sam and Dan happens to be a fun coincidence to Sam and Dean. (PS -- And I dedicated the book to Jared, just because of all the inspiration.)

 REVIEWS

"All and all, anything that leaves me as emotionally strung out, happy, and inspired as this book (and every other book I've ever read by Ms. Hart) has left me is a certifiable masterpiece, in my humble opinion. I've said before that I'd read a grocery list if Megan wrote it, and I'd probably cry a couple times throughout it. Megan has made a habit of making her books exemplary, and Stranger is no exception." Jen Bates, reader

"Just like Hart's other books, this one delves deeply into all of the characters -- but heroine Grace has no secrets from the reader. Use of first-person point of view makes everything immediate and intense, from the sizzling sex to Grace's banter with Sam and Jack to the more emotional scenes with her family. A keeper. " Catherine Witmer, Romantic Times Magazine -- 4 1/2 stars and a Top Pick!
