Over at the Barnes and Noble book club… Thanks, Michelle! M Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
Well, here it is! Another release day. I’m a little behind this morning, but that’s okay — the book’s still out and you can still buy it, fresh and brand-spanking new. Today I’m chatting about brainstorming over at Novelthoughts and you can win a copy of No Greater Pleasure, so stop on over if you’re of a mind to do it. I’ve talked about No Greater Pleasure before, so I’m not sure what else to say about it except the usual: I actually wrote NGP BEFORE (years before, as a matter of fact) Pleasure and Purpose. It’s part of the same world as P and P but it’s one full novel, rather than three novellas. It’s historical fantasy, romance, sensual, not erotic. Chronologically it probably takes place before P and P, but since they’re not really connected other than being set in the same world, you can definitely read them out of order…so, if you haven’t read Pleasure and Purpose yet, don’t fear. You can pick up No Greater Pleasure and read it first! It has pretty cover art, too, which you can see in the sidebar at the moment. I’ll entertain questions about it here, if you have any… Go! And if you’re so inclined, an excerpt. Interestingly, the cover art’s changed slightly. I wonder if it will have foil on it, like its sister book, Pleasure and Purpose BLURB: It was at the request of Lord Gabriel Delessan that a handmaiden of the Order of Solace be delivered to his manor house. For young and ingenuous Tranquilla Caden, it would be her new position of service–devoted as she was to fulfilling every demand of her new master, to stimulating his mind, stirring his soul, and arousing his body. Yet something happens that Quilla never counted on: she was falling hopelessly, dangerously in love with the enigmatic–and very married–man she was required only to service. By the by — The Order of Solace is not a sex-based religion. Handmaidens have myriad ways to provide solace to their patrons, and no two ever require the same service. The perfect cup of tea, a kind word, a merry story, all can provide solace. Some Handmaidens never make love to their patrons at all. But I write romance. Sometimes, explicit romance. So the chances of you reading any books about Handmaidens who do NOT make love to their patrons (whether the book’s erotic or sensual, they’ll all vary so don’t be surprised!) are pretty slim. I mean, I could write one about a Handmaiden who doesn’t fall in love with her patron but then it wouldn’t be a romance without someone falling in love somewhere along the way, so…yeah. You probably won’t read any like that. Just sayin’. M Friday, August 28th, 2009
So I realized I have a new book coming out in just a few days (though I know there are people who have found it out there in the wild already) and I figured I should probably get the word out. So, here’s the deal…I’m going to give away 15 copies of the book! Pleasure and Purpose! How can you get one? Be one of the first 15 to feature the book trailer for Pleasure and Purpose on your blog or website! That’s it. Easy. Here’s what you do: embed the code for the trailer (find it at http://blip.tv/file/2473582) and send me the link to your entry at readinbed AT gmail.com with CONTEST in the subject– I’ll reply with what number you are. If you’re in the first 15, you get a copy of Pleasure and Purpose and I’ll send it to you when I get my copies. (I don’t know when it will be, probably sometime in September.) If you’re not in the first 15, don’t fear. For everyone who features the video on their websites or blogs after the first 15, you’ll be entered into a drawing to also win a copy of Pleasure and Purpose. Contest ends one week from today, September 4th, and I’ll let you know if you won a few days after that! So remember: feature the above trailer on your blog or website. Send me the link before Sept.4th. First 15 get a copy of Pleasure and Purpose.
