Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Or, if you wanna be quick about it, Happy VD…
These are my favorite love and/or lust songs! Hooray!
umm, Billy Wirth? As a priest? Umm, yes please, thank you.
first time I ever heard them play this song, it was live in a tiny little lunch room at a radio station. I was writing Switch at the time. It became “the” song for the book.
Love this song.
first time I heard THIS song it was while watching a very, very cute guy swing around on a pole. Or maybe he was sliding across the floor on his knees. I’m definitely sure there were dollar bills involved. Anyone who loves Jack from Dirty and Stranger? This song.
You can occupy my every sigh, you can rent the space inside my mind. At least until the price becomes too high.
Collide is…well. Collide!
I wish you knew when I said two sugars, actually I meant three.
You love romances, right? And you love grab bags, right? Well, here’s your chance to get your hands on a cram-packed box of vintage romances, circa the late 80′s – the late 90′s!
What’s in the booooox?
Well. Honestly, I’m not sure. I’m just cramming books in there however they’ll fit. I’ve seen some Debbie Macomber, some Merline Lovelace, a bunch of Harlequin Historicals and Silhouette Intimate moments.
What you get is a SURPRISE!
These books are in mostly decent condition, but they are of grab-bag quality. So. You want a surprise package of vintage romances? Comment here with your favorite thrift-store or bargain find! I’ll pick on winner by Sunday, 9 pm EST. You must live in the United States for this one (sorry, it’s because of postage).
c’mon! You know you want to see what’s in the boooxxxxx!!!
Yesterday, I tweeted that I like revising better than writing, and that’s true. Writing is HARD, ya’ll. Revising can be hard, too, but at least you already have something to work with. Writing is like mining the diamond. Revising it polishing it so that it shines. Revising makes things sparkly.
Yesterday, I wrote fresh words on my work in progress. And though the writing’s been slower with this book than I’d hoped, (in that I set a pretty high goal for myself that isn’t necessary, was just personal) I finished my word count earlier than expected. So, I revised. Not the book I’m still writing, though it might get to that point, when I realize I’m writing out of order and need to go back to see what bits and pieces need filling in. Nope, I revised a different book.
Again.
And I finished revising it last night, only to wake this morning full of self doubt, thinking about all the places I hadn’t revised.
So, here’s the thing.
Sometimes, the book is finished. Sometimes you can revise it forever, and it’s never going to be finished. So you have to decide, at some point, to let it go.
I’m back to writing fresh words today, but I’m already thinking about how I might revise them, and I’m looking forward to it!
Back in…April? May? of last year, at the Romantic Times Convention (time has blurred for me, that’s what happens when you leap back and forth too much…) I had the pleasure of being one of the authors participating in the huge, gigantic book signing. Now, anyone familiar with RT knows that there are a plethora of deliciously lovely menfolk wandering about. The booksigning was no exception. I was sitting across from a woman selling her young adult novel, and she had this guy…well, promoting it, I guess. He stood by her and talked to people about coming to buy the book, etc. So, curious, I gestured him over and asked him what was up. (I mean, the real question was, where was my cute guy hawking my wares? *note to self, procure cute boys to hawk books*)
He introduced himself as Chris Mann, and said he’d sung the song for the book video related to the book he was helping the author sell.
Wow! How cool!
So I started asking him what else he’d done, etc. Turns out that Mr. Mann is quite the accomplished singer. When I got home, I found him on iTunes and purchased a whole bunch of his music and have been enjoying it ever since. And this is a guy who’s good to his fans — he does periodic concerts from his house…HIS HOUSE, people! Online chats, etc. So, he’s cute, very talented and super nice.
And now, he’s on The Voice.
I’ve never watched the show; I don’t care for reality television normally and watching the premiere episode to hear Chris’s audition reminded me why. I’m too tender-hearted. I can’t stand to watch people fail. But I watched it to see and hear Chris sing…he’s now on Team Christina! Hooray!
So, whether you watch The Voice or not, check out Chris’s music.
And watch him on The Voice! I’ll be rooting for him, that’s for sure!

I write to music. Always. Hear what I'm listening to right this very minute as I write. You can listen to what I was listening to when I wrote certain books and stories. And, if you like a song, please purchase it from your favorite retailer so you can support the artist — because downloading music without paying for it is as douchey as pirating ebooks!
