If Only I Could Be Nocturnal

I was dead this morning when I woke up. Dead tired, that is. But now it’s nearly midnight, I’m getting up in four hours for the meteor shower, I know that my real getting up time won’t be much later after that, and I know I’ll be a zombie again in the morning. But right now with the house quiet all around me, with my fingers flying over the keys, with the story coming out of me…

I wish I could write all night and sleep in tomorrow. THAT is what I would do if I didn’t have people living in my house who needed stuff from me.

But let me say this: It’s been awhile since a book gave me such utter uncomplicated joy. I’m not saying COLLIDE will be my best book (the best ones seem to actually be the hardest to write, though Tempted is my personal all time favorite and it came out pretty fast by necessity.) And don’t get me wrong, I love all my stories, or else I wouldn’t write them –contrary to what some people seem to to think about authors, I don’t personally know any who write books they hate on purpose!

But this one is…special.

Today’s page count: 23

more lines of the day: Johnny’s coat brushed our table as he passed, and I let my fingers creep over the spot to caress it. I caught Jen looking at me. I shrugged.
“You,” she said, “have it worse than I ever did.”

Oooo love that line. And yay book! I’m eager for Collide. :D
Also… :X interesting. Thought you didn’t like the name Jen/Jennifer? Though granted its a hard one to avoid – esp for women in their 20s-30s.

@limecello: I had issues with the name Jen/Jennifer, however, Jen in the book is named after my good friend who’s supporting me in this little venture.

Have to agree with Lime. Love that line…it’s such a great teaser! Will be eager to read more especially since you are loving it so much. Tempted remains a fav of mine….it was the first of your books that I read. Have I ever mentioned that I love your one word titles that seem to sum up your stories so well. Love them!

@Booklover1335: thanks! I’ll be honest, I’m tired of one word titles, but it seems to be my “thang.” Started with Dirty, which WAS my title, but I wanted to call Broken, Precious and Fragile Things. They didn’t go for it. Tempted was going to be Perfect (which I still think is a much, much better title!) Stranger was originally called Catch and Release. But I’ve learned my lesson now, with Spice, I call them all one word titles. I was trying to make a sentence, but that didn’t work. :)
