On the downhill slide…
on-the-downhill-slide

27 pages yesterday. Just a few more scenes to write and the first draft’s done!

lines of the day: Cassian didn’t know the names of all the forms, just knew his brother had mastered them all. Even without weapons he was deadly. Graceful. Lethal. Those hands had killed. Even now as Jaissan finished, panting, Cassian saw his brother scrub his palms against his trousers.
Some stains are never washed clean.

PS — I don’t like the brother’s name, and I want to change it. Suggestions considered. (Don’t suggest Zachary!)

Back to work…!

Is the brother’s name pronounced Jason? I’m having trouble reading it any other way.

No idea on suggestions for a replacement name.

Yeah, pronounced Jason and I don’t like it! Well, I have nothing against the name Jason. I just don’t want to use it in this book.

Is there any way to get a description of Jaissan?

@Cecile: He’s…tall with dark brown hair and eyes. He’s the hero’s identical twin!

How about Castiel? (winks) It’s a good ‘twin’ name with Cassian.

That’s the only reason I would suggest it of course. (smiles)

If you are trying to keep the names together because they are identical twins… Cameron, my fave Caleb or Charles… Then if you don’t want C names… Thaddeus, Marquis, Donovan to name a few.. I am thinking tall dark handsome man, dark brown eyes and hair.. and strong… and indepent since he is a twin….

How about Quinton? ;) Quintion? Zachon? Quintary?

    Must drink less caffeine.

Hm… no idea why, but the name “Trevon” is what popped into my head first.

Also – whoo 27 pages! Good luck with the rest :D

    Julian, Drake, Nicholas, Angelo, Casey?

Why is it that with millions of names out there when you try to think of some that are a little different you go brain dead? LOL

What about Hezekiah? You could use the shortened name “Kiah” as a brotherly term.

    @CRE: isn’t Hezekiah a girl’s name?

Not that I’ve ever heard of. I originally heard it years ago in an old Tony Curtis/Jack Lemmon movie as the name of a big burly guy. According to wiki it was the name of 13th King of Judah.
