HAPPY RELEASE DAY!

Ahhhhh, the sweet, sweet feeling of release.

So, Taking Care of Business has officially “come out” today and boy, is it excitement city around here. I’m still in my PJ’s. (another sort of sleepless night, don’t ask. Thanks for all the good thoughts on my kid, he seems to be on the mend.)

The winner from yesterday’s blog entry is:

This one sounds so good. Can’t wait to go out and get it tomorrow
by Jessie

Jessie, you win your choice of Stranger, Naughty Bits or A Red Hot Valentine’s Day! Please email me your choice and your snail mail address to readinbed AT gmail.com — if I don’t hear from you by April 7th, you’ll forfeit your prize.

And to celebrate release day, in ADDITION to the ongoing contest Lauren and I are doing over at Dane Hart Discuss I also feel in a giving mood. Since one of the grand prizes for the contest is the playlists each of us made while writing, it’s pretty obvious I love music. And, I love turning people on to the music I love. So, today only, *that’s until midnight, EST, Tues. 3/31/09, your comment must be posted before then or else it’s ineligible* I will give away a song from iTunes to TEN RANDOM COMMENTORS! YOU MUST HAVE iTUNES enabled and be a resident of the U.S. — iTunes won’t let me gift music to anyone in other countries. Sorry! But if you live in the US and use iTunes, you can enter!)

Just comment to this entry about your craziest conference story, or, if you don’t have one, make one up. I’ll choose ten winners tomorrow morning when I get up and post them. You even get to pick which song you want.

How’s that for fabulous! And don’t forget to keep checking here and at Lauren’s blog for the big contest, which ends Friday!

Just wanted to say congrats on the release of TCOB. I really enjoyed reading it and in my opinion it was one of the better books I’ve read all year.

Hmmm… craziest conference story? Hah – going back to high school, I guess – there’s this thing called JCL where hundreds (nearly a thousand) teenagers get together, and compete – with tests, quiz bowl, arts, sports, and then one night have a banquet and wear togas. I was once a chaperone. Very, very interesting.

My one and only conference was a titalating (not) dental conference I went to with my sister, as her guest. I mean it was in Hawaii, so I had a total blast during the day while she sat around and gained knowledge. The nights were a little wild, who know dentists loved karaoke, and were totally tone deaf. And man, can they hold their liquor, lol.

    Craziest Con Story?
    Only one?
Most of my cons are media related, but I guess it’d have to be the time back when I was a teenager at a science fiction convention in Baltimore. There was an annoying fan who was harassing all the ladies at the con, and my boyfriend took exception to his talk and shoved him into a wall…. problem is that it was a pretty cheap wall (really he didn’t shove him that hard) and he shoved him THROUGH the wall. The hotel was NOT happy with him, but at least that annoying guy stopped harassing women (or at least stopped harassing ME!)
