I can not for the life of me figure how to add a new category. I mean, I click “Add new category” and it won’t do it. IT WILL NOT APPEASE ME.
So I go through the first run of edits on NAKED (which used to be TAKEN) and now tomorrow I’ll put all the corrections into the manuscript on my computer, and probably will have to write some new scenes.
I’m not sure about the end. I keep thinking there should be more to it than there is, that they need to have this…oh…like…big fight or something. But you know, not everyone does. Sometimes, you just get along and love each other and it’s all good, even if you have a bad moment or two, you get through it.
So. I’m not sure about what is going to happen at the very end. At the very, very end, I know, but not at the just-almost-the end.
I talked at length with my friend JEN tonight about the douchery of just talking about your work all the time, like everyone should know your books and your characters, and how really, FFS, anyone reading this blog isn’t really tuning in for the blow-by-blow details of my life but ALSO it’s douchetastic to assume that readers are clamoring for every single word and detail of my writing life.
And yet here I am, telling you about the book I’m working on like any of you care!
Well, that’s just what’s going on right now. I’m sort of not really but a little bit confused about this book rahtchere — NAKED, that is — in that I whipped through it and I really liked it, when I was reading through it, but I keep thinking there has to be more in it. And there probably DOES! But I’ll figure it out tomorrow when I start putting in all the fine tuning and figuring out the places that need more, and where to put them, and how. So many details!
And in other news…
Hmmm. Well…hmmm.
I’m going to be older soon.
And what else? Well, it’s late and I’m going to go to bed.
I haven’t done a Supernatural recap lately, but let me say I loved the last episode and I just think the show is soooooooooo good…
That’s all. Good night.

I love that you love supernatural and I love that I love your books and that you love supernatural and that you talk about it and yeah…I love that I now call Jared Padaleki(sp?) JPad because I read it here somewhere… It’s fun reading your blog!

@Sara: LOL I don’t think I can take credit for JPad, but that’s how I think of him.

I pretty much don’t care what you’re talking about which probably sounds weird, right? But, I love when you write like we’re having a conversation, like this post. Douchery aside…of course.

@Rosie: Someday, we’ll have a real conversation!

But – but …
Talking about writing to other interested parties is ESSENTIAL, especially if you’re a wee bit unsure whether you’re on the right track. And since people in real life, in my experience, don’t give a rat’s arse unless the book is actually in print, the internetz fulfill a HUGE need for us to angst and second guess and bore people – not that you do – and generally get our thoughts in order.
I love seeing other peoples’ streams of authorly conciousness. they are so inspiring.
I watched an episode of Supernatural once and Dean’s personal attributes weren’t quite enough to overcome my feeling that the show is a bit out of my comfort zone scary-wise.

@Sal: Well, sure, a little bit about the writing is fine, but every single post, every single day, with nothing but “Oh, so THIS IS WHAT A WRITER DOES OMGZ I IZ A WRITTTTTERRRR”"…that would be boring.
And haha…Supernaturals’ too scary for you. I find that…amusing.

I for one read your blog to hear about your writing process because I like your books. I don’t really care for Supernatural, so I skip those posts. No big.

@Judith: We got a vote for writing process!

I love hearing the backstory for your books. It is fun to get insight into what the author was thinking when they were writing their novels. If you are having problems with NAKED I would be more then happy to read what you have so far…..really it would not be a problem. A little dose of Alex sounds good right about now. I am glad to hear you liked Supernatural this past week. I must admit I was wondering what you thought. I loved it too…..alot of good “Dean Lines”.

@Rachel: LOL! There can never be a “little” dose of Alex, he pretty much takes up all the room wherever he goes…

It’s your blog, you can write about what you want! And if you use the words “fuck” and “douche” all the better! Ok, and Jensen and Jpad too, cause, well, that’s how I found you to begin with. Although, it was weird. Before 6 months ago, I never even thought to see if my favorite authors had blogs. Go figure.
Wait and do a recap of Supernatural this week. I can’t wait to hear what you think!

@Patty: LOL, you like the word fuck, too? Haha!

I stand corrected! I don’t know what I was thinking…:)

I loved last week’s eppy too!
Oh and I love reading about writers processes! That’s why I follow…er…stalk writers blogs.

I really enjoy reading your blog posts, especially the ones about your writing process. Being able to read about your frustrations reminds me that I’m not the only who has a hard time with my writing – though all I’ve done so far is academic writing. My favorites, though, are the quotes of the day from whatever you’re working on at the time. You have some really great quotes.
March 18th, 2009 at 10:27 am · Link
@Karin: haha, well, sometimes the quotes are the only great thing about what I wrote that day.

I lovereading about your book writing process, especially when you give us hints as to the story line and background info on books you’ve already written.
Besides, I find it interesting to read about someone’s life this way, and even though I don’t know you, I find your opinions very interesting to read! So thank you for that, and keep on writing them please!

@Aniek: well, thank you!

have you seen the end of Nip & Tuck… yet? ??? Did I see a diet coke in your last video?? or was I dreaming.
March 18th, 2009 at 10:26 am · Link
@sandy: I have not watched it yet! And it was a coke zero, yes. I drink them on occasion. Just not as much as I used to!

I like it when you type my name in all caps. It makes me feel important.
I also vote for another Supernatural recap.
Oh, and another QAF discussion.
March 18th, 2009 at 10:26 am · Link
@JEN: Does it make your heart happy?
Yes, another QAF discussion would be good!

So what if it does make my heart happy?
Don’t you want to make my heart happy, Megan? I think you might.
You’re a nice lady. I can tell.

@Jen: Of course I want to make your heart happy!
