That’s adorable. I already have it though. Boo. Why can’t they give out free downloads of stuff no one has?

I’m certain it’s not as ludicrous to everyone else as it is to me, but when I was 17, I was engaged to someone slightly older than me. Valentine’s day was our 6 month anniversary. I went ALL OUT with gifts. Roses. A heart keychain that had a key keychain (corny, I know). A small journal filled with poetry that I’d written for him (which was a huge deal – I don’t share my poetry with anyone. Ever). Dinner that I made for him from scratch. These are just the ones that I remember… there were many more. He got me a small fairy statue. He got my mother an orchid plant (because she’s into flowers).

We got into a pretty big argument when he confessed that he’d forgotten it was our 6 month anniversary and that he’d been trying to please my mother more than me, trying to stay on her good side. There was more to the argument, but the bottom line was that I was feeling neglected (hey, I was a selfish, spoiled teenager – gimme a break). So I’m on the phone, crying, as I’m fighting with the Love Of My Life, when my mother walks into my room, glowing.

She had a positive pregnancy test in her hands.

I had to pretend to be all happy-go-lucky and jumping for joy, when all I wanted to do was curl in a ball and cry, certain that my relationship was about to be over. It lasted until June, when we parted ways amicably. But that wonderful Valentine’s Day was what a)reaffirmed my belief that V-Day should be banned and b)was the beginning of the end of my engagement.

This is a tough one as I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. I can’t say that I have actually had a ludicrous one.

I think I have actually had 1 Valentine expericence in my life (that I can rememeber) and it’s not weird. Blind date. 2 dozen roses. Dirty bathtub. Never saw the guy again. I think he tried too hard but then really? Not hard enough. That’s all I am telling.

Valentine’s day is a stupid day. If you love someone you should be wonderful to them every day. Those of us that dislike everyone are mean every day. People need to offset my crabbiness! :|

Well I’ve never had a real v-day; in fact I kind of don’t celebrate it since I was in elementary. I mean c’mon back then all your classmates would give you a little valentine card and those heart shape candies, and you didn’t had to be in any romantic relationship to receive something like that, like it is nowadays. Well in most cases…

Now, as I’m older no one has ever given me anything for Valentine’s Day… so I have always skipped that “special” day… But here comes the cheesy part…

Yesterday, while I was on my brake there was a delivery box in the office, I went to check who the package was for and when I saw that it had my name on it, I was pretty surprised. I thought to myself “I don’t remember ordering anything”. Well when I opened the box (not knowing that it was from the flower shop) I was surprised to see that there were flowers.

My very best friend of ten years send me tulips for Valentine’s Day… I never would of had expected her or anyone to send me anything. It took me by surprised, but it made me feel happy, gracious and loved to know that someone does think of me on Valentine’s Day like her.

And here is what she wrote on her message card; “To the person who is like no other. Happy Early Valentine’s Day!! –Love, Ale.”

So that’s my Happy Valentine’s Day I’ve had in such a very long time. :D

Well, I’ve only ever celebrated once. Four years ago when I was dating this guy, he was on the phone with me asking me which flowers he should buy for me. I told him to get whatever or nothing at all because I didn’t really need flowers.

While on the phone he tells me exactly which ones he ordered, but they’re not the ones that showed up at my house. Instead of the nice arrangement of carnations, I ended up with a dozen roses and a teddy bear with chocolates. He swore that wasn’t what he ordered, and considering I knew his finances I believe him. He and I both had a good laugh about the flower company’s mistake. Of course, I also felt bad for whoever was supposed to have gotten the roses and ended up with my carnations.

When dh was in the Navy he had duty(has to stay on the ship overnight) on Valentines day. We had been married less than a year and he had been gone for 6+ months of that time. So on Valentines Day I took Chinese take out to the ship and we spent some time together in his repair shop on board the ship. It would have been ok except other sailors kept coming in and interrupting us. We did keep our clothes on only because there was no privacy. Another Valentines he called me at 2 am. He was overseas and had the chance to call and wish me a happy Valentines Day.

We really do not celebrate Valentine’s Day…but I have to say that the most amazing Valentine’s Day that I had was fifteen years ago when I spent my Valentine’s Day in the hospital having my oldest son…who will be fifteen this year. It is hard to believe that he is already almost fifteen. Where does the time go?

I hope that everyone has a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Well to keep this “Clean” as possible my Mother (yes, my Mother… what can I say she’s the WILD one between the two of us) gave me a “Couples” type gift (an unconvential one) …I made her call her DR to PROVE to me that is was OK. His nurse assured me it was safe. (Though her laughter as well as some of the other nurses was quite audible over the phone)

So, I put on a red something…and presented the idea to hubby. He was game…and well, lets put it this way…

I have NEVER listened to another idea of Mom’s again!!

Both Hubby and I raced for the Bathroom and ran cold water in area’s that were ..Uh, well you get the point!

We have never forgot that Valentines Day!!!
