Anyone watching it? I’m really enjoying it. I liked the Charlaine Harris books quite a bit — the first three, anyway, enough to recommend them to others. I’ve read them all but have lost track of how many there are and tend to read a few of them in a spurt and therefore overdose, but the first three I just loooooved. One of the sexiest lines, ever, in a book was in the first book, but I don’t have the book in front of me, (lent it out!) so can’t quote directly.
Anyway, normally I wouldn’t have HBO but we happened to get it as part of signing up for the Comcast DVR (I WANT MY TIVO BACK) and so I DVR’d it. And let me tell you it was ten kinds of pain in the ass. Have I mentioned how much I loathe Comcast DVR? And that I want my Tivo back?
I’m not sure Supernatural in HD is worth the angst.
Anyways….been watching True Blood and really like it a lot.
And this guy:
HOooooOOO-eeeee! Vampire Bill is teh sexay!!! I love the way he says “Sookie.” Mmmmm!
But the series is way more sexed up than the books were, with lots of bad language. I love it, but I’m wondering how Harris feels about it…it’s quite different from the books to have all the sex onscreen and the bad words. Even so, it feels true to the story and I’m really glad I started watching it.

Hi Megan! I am so glad that you mentioned this show. I don’t know anyone else who watches it. I love any show that involves sexy vampires. I was sitting there watching the third episode yesterday, and I could not help thinking how great I thought the show is. I love the sex, language, and colorful chrarcters. I have always been partial to shows that don’t hold back and try to be polite. The more real and raw a show the more it appeals to me. If that means hot sex, dirty language, and mayhem…well i say bring it on! I have to mention another show that really fits the bill is Californication. David Duchovony is incredible as the star, but I always thought Mulder was sexy so I guess I was already inclined to like it. You should check it out if you have not already seen it!

@Rachel: Yeah, I’m with you on the sex and language.
We just started watching Deadwood on DVD. Talk about language! WOW!
I’ve heard about Californication but didn’t have HBO. I’ll have to get it on DVD and since I only watch a very few hours of TV a week, I have to get through Deadwood first!
I’ve started watching more now that I watch True Blood and Fringe AND Supernatural, but most of my viewing is Friday and Saturday nights, rented movies or an occasional On Demand flick.

I don’t know if you have Showtime, but that is the channel that airs Californication. I think the first season is On Demand , but I do think the show is worth the dvd purchase. I have not watched Fringe, but I have heard about it from my cousin. Joshua Jackson is another hottie on my list!

@Rachel: Ah, i think we get Showtime, too! LOL! I was underwhelmed by the pilot of Fringe but liked the second episode.

I really wanted to see True Blood but don’t have premiere movie channels – only “peasant vision” package.
I didn’t know it was based on a series of books. Maybe I’ll check those out instead.

@Carol: I’ve really enjoyed Charlaine Harris’s Southern Vampire books, especially the first three. There are…8? I think? and I believe I’m all caught up, but I just read one this summer that I really really liked, too. They’re great fun.

Thanks, Megan. I’m adding them to my TBR list.

Sukee !!
LOL…the way he say’s it leaves me thinking… Nookie, Nookie.
HA!
Loving the series thus far. Last weeks epi was HOT! The way he stood and declared “She’s MINE!”
THUD worthy moment.
But…she’s holding back in the Nookie Dept…but feels comfortable enough to “Play around” on his front porch?
Ok..to each their own! But…WTF?
LOL

@Dana: YEAH. MMM. Suuuukeh. Damn. Now I want to watch that again. And he’s all broody and stuff and glowering.
I wondered too about the porch steps thing. Maybe she knew there was nobody around? I mean…I’m all for taking yourself in hand, so to speak, but maybe not in public…LOL!

Hey Meg! Long time no talk to! LOL
But yes. I take over my boyfriend’s dad’s TV every Sunday night (they have HBO and I don’t, sadly) solely so I can watch True Blood. And, when it premieres, Little Britain USA.
Am I the only one that thought this week’s ep was softcore vampire!fetish porn? LOL I enjoyed it. I laughed a lot. Whether it was MEANT to be funny is anyone’s guess.

@Stace!: Heya! I think that yes, it was a little bit softcore vampire fetish porn. LOL! Which is so totally NOT like the books at all. I’ve said before, I really enjoyed the books but *most* of the sex action takes place off the page, or is related in a non graphic manner. So this show is really a lot more sex-filled than the books.
But I like the show, and I loooooove Bill!

Hey, Megan!
I’m waiting (and I’m sure I’m not the only one) for someone intelligent and discerning in one of these cable companies to option out the rights to your books. At first, I thought about movies, but no, I think a series would do your characters better.
We can start with Elle and Dan in Dirty and somewhere later along, introduce Sadie, Adam and then Joe. Ohh, now THAT is gonna be a really hot series. : )

@Carol: Hmm, yeah, Broken would sort of be like the Red Shoes Diaries series, a sexy vignette every week and then the “real” story going along with it. I think it would make a GREAT tv series!!!!
Okay, universe, make it happen.

Ok..I know I’m posting to an older post, but did you get to re-watch the “Sukkieee” moment. So thudworthy!
But this weeks….Sam the sheets and the closing song. Someone MUST give the person responsable a BIG Kuddo’s. That was simply PRICELESS.
Have a great week!

Um? Getting his “Doggy” groove on, perhaps?
They had a few spoilers I found that indicate some pretty “hot” epi’s coming up! Woo Hoo.
And Zalman Kings “Red Shoe Diaries” was a FAB show! Loved the Billy Zane and Richard Tyson epis.
“Two Moon Junction”-RT= HOT
Can’t wait for next weeks TB epi,and am dying to see if the spoiler alert was correct and a special guest star may make an appearence!
Have a great Thursday!
