Back to work!

One might imagine that coming down from the vacation “high” is difficult.

And, one might be right. Two might even be right.

But there’s no rest for the wicked, so they say, and I can’t afford to get behind on my work since, hello, leaving for a two-week cross country RV trip in a few days.

Um.

Yeah, I said it. TWO WEEKS IN AN RV.

Heaven help me. If I make it back alive I might have a lot of fodder for a book. But I doubt it will be erotic.

Maybe I’ll start writing horror.

Anyway, I’m back to the final/final/FINAL edits on Switch and I want to thank all the folks who read it and critted it. I’m glad it doesn’t suck as much as I thought it did when I wrote it. ;) Look for it in … 2010, I believe, from Spice! Anyway, I hope to finish the final FINAL crit on this one and ship it out by Friday so I can go off toodling around the country in an RV without that hanging over my head.

And I have these fantasies of completely rearranging my office and painting the walls and doing stuff like getting rid of junk and files and whatnot. Yeah. Probably not gonna happen unless I’m insane. Well. Okay, insanER.

Hey, Karen, our boy Shia got into some trouble… :( Bad boy.

So, yeah, I saw The Dark Knight. Loved it. Yes, Ledger was pretty amazing though I’m not sure if Oscar-worthy is the right way to describe it — he was wonderful and the movie was, yes, dark, but um, did you read the title? Anyway, I really enjoyed it.

Also saw The X Files and SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! I’ve been watching the series recently, starting with season one,and have made it midway through season two. I loved that show when it was on with a fiery passion only surpassed by my love for Supernatural (perhaps I adore SPN more because um…well, two hot boys instead of an angsty couple?!) Anyway, I really really enjoyed the movie much more than the Fight the Future one because I always hated the conspiracy theory episodes and preferred the ones where they just “solved” cases. Even though they never solved anything because, hello. X files.

But ohhhhh, Scully/Mulder!!!!! LOOOOOOOOOVEEEEE THEM!

And my god, could Gillian Anderson be more beautiful? David Duchovny was looked a little jowly but maybe that was in character — I don’t think he’s that jiggly on Californication.

Anyhoodle, that’s my movie review for the night. I’m flat-out exhausted and need to hit the sack. I’d stay up later but somebody’s supposed to come tomorrow between 9-12 and I know if I wake up early he’ll be here at noon and if I don’t he’ll be ringing my bell at 8:30. Ha. That sounds dirty, don’t it? Well, it’s not.

Good night.

My husband is a sales manager at a RV dealership. So we can borrow any used motor home to go on vacations, etc. We spent two weeks with two toddlers traveling the Oregon coast a couple of years ago. It was trying but fun. Though I came home and my house felt like a mansion (which it’s not, LOL).

And shame on that Shia! I’ll nurse him back to health. I’ll also kick his butt. DUI, jeez… :pity:

I still think Shia was framed. Either way, normally good boys who do bad (stupid) things are kinda hot. Sometimes. :D

    Welcome back, Megan!

Switch in 2010 sounds so far away!

Shia, tsk tsk. And I was counting on him to be a wholesome heartthrob for my teen. I’m all for second chances, but still. :noshake:

Yay! You’re back! Hm, DUI = dumb.
2010 *is* far away! And… holy hell. 2 weeks in a RV. I… could not do that. I hope you have fun and get great story ideas!
And… I agree with you completely on Dark Knight. Loved it, would go see it again in the theater (yay early bird $5 showing!) – but… while Heath Ledger was great, I dunno about the Oscar. Haha, I said that in a few blogs, and I was the only one who thought so. Until now! Yay!

WB! Two weeks in an RV? I’d go postal.

Heath – in my opinion totally deserves the Oscar. But then I’m a huge Joker fan who has never been totally happy with anyone’s version until Heath’s so…. yeah.

@Kelly: Yeah, I’m not sure I’ll survive. After one week I’ll be saying to people ” so…you wanna know how I got these scars?” ;)

I don’t think his performance WASN’T Oscar-worthy– I’m not sure it was. I thought he was fabulous, yes, and amazing, and wonderful and awesome. But I’m not so sure about what makes “Oscar” worthy — I think I’d rather just enjoy his performance without all the pressure.

@limecello: I loved the movie, LOVED his performance. I just don’t know what makes something “OscarWorthy”…

I think that most of my romantic plans make me homicidal or antisocial. The RV getaway that turns me into an Amish-resembling Luddite, for instance. The European vacation that made me deeply dislike Parisians. The dinner that cost a month’s salary that had just a bit too much cilantro.

If you need to blow up your RV, let me recommend using TNT. You’ll need three sticks, but if you place them strategically in the sink and under each axle, the results can be very satisfying.

    Good luck!

And it’s nice to see you back.

@Dr. Jamie: Bwahaha! Welcome, Dr. Jamie!

This RV getaway includes children. Not romantic at all. I’m just praying to make it through alive.

Or at least with an alibi.

I loved Ledger as Joker too – he’s by far the best one ever. But… based on how the Oscars have been going the past few years, it just seems unlikely. Awesome if he gets a nomination, but it’s not something I personally would be expecting. [I feel like all the nominations the past few years have been for movies I've never even heard of.]
