I just been up and whacked with the after-con letdown cudgel.
I was doing all right. I wasn’t feeling well — started losing my voice Saturday night and woke up on Sunday feeling like six and two thirds kinds of hell — felt better and worse, on and off.
But I got up today, tired but feeling okay, getting back into the groove of things.
And I watched Supernatural tonight.
And I looked at pictures on other people’s blogs, and I googled…things…and I had some happy little moments.
Then…now…BAM.
*heavy sigh*
Now I have to get back to work, especially since a certain someone is on my case about a certain dirty/bad/wrong story combination hahahahahhaahhaaaaaaa…
Which I need to get to.
*ahem*
I don’t wanna get back to worrrrrkkk…..

It’s showing up in stores and you can buy it from Amazon.com and BN.Com!
Broken, available now!
blurb:
My name is different every month—Brandy, Honey, Amy…sometimes Joe doesn’t even bother to ask—but he never fails to arouse me with his body, his mouth, his touch, no matter what I’m called or where he picks me up. The sex is always amazing, always leaves me itching for more in those long weeks until I see him again.
My real name is Sadie, and once a month over lunch Joe tells me about his latest conquest. But what Joe doesn’t know is that, in my mind, I’m the star of every X-rated one-night stand he has revealed to me, or that I’m practically obsessed with our imaginary sex life. I know it’s wrong. I know my husband wouldn’t understand. But I can’t stop. Not yet.
Reviews:
“Readers get to experience Sadie’s world through her eyes, and the first-person point of view works beautifully here. Hart’s decision to filter our understanding of the other characters in Sadie’s world is nothing short of brilliant. Sadie’s descriptions of the events unfolding around her, of her hopes and dreams and of her sensual fantasies have the ability to transcend the page and truly bring her plight to life.
With her previous novel, Dirty, Hart established herself as an extremely skilled author of literary erotica. Broken uses her strengths by drawing on the author’s ability to pen a tightly-plotted, vividly detailed and heartbreakingly emotional tale. This is not an easy read by any means. Readers looking for fun fantasy escapism won’t find that here. However, fans of literary erotica craving a poignant, unidealized story will love Hart’s novel.” Belle Dessler, Bookloons
“This is not a traditional romance but the story of a real and complex woman caught in a difficult situation with no easy answers. Well-developed secondary characters and a compelling plot add depth to this absorbing and enticing novel. ” Jessica E. Moyer for the Library Journal
“A thoroughly unexpected erotic drama, BROKEN is as thought-provoking as it is sizzlingly sensual. ” Phillipa Ann for Romance Reviews Today Erotic
“This was one of the best books I’ve ever read.” — Anna, a reader who sent me an email
“…Broken is a complex book. It’s not easy. But it’s worth it. Broken is, without question, an amazing book and I truly hope it gets the attention it deserves. Technically, it’s mindblowing. As an author, when I read it, I was floored by the skill Megan used as a writer. The story is marvelous but she tells it perfectly.
Go. Buy it. Read it. You won’t be sorry.” Lauren Dane, Author of Taking Chase

I’m going to be honest here, about snobbery. Admit it, we all have some sort of snobbery. I’m going to talk about writing snobbery.
I’m NOT talking about genre snobbery — to be honest, I write romance and erotica, so as far as a lot of “writers” are concerned, I’m pretty much at the bottom of the barrel. I don’t agree with that assessment, mind you, but I understand that’s the way it is. And am I going to scream and fuss and protest? Umm…nah, that’s not much my style. Because, you see — *beckons you closer* — I don’t care. I don’t care if some literary author thinks I write shite. I don’t care if some mystery author, or some best selling mainstream author thinks romance is crap and erotica is porn. I don’t CARE what they think because I know better. And you know what? I don’t need to diss someone else in order build myself up, so to those who write “high-brow” and “classy” “literature,” I say, good for you. Someone’s gotta. I’ll just keep writing what I like, thanks very much.
So I’m not talking about genre snobbery. But I will admit to other sorts of writing snobbery. Book length, for example. I regulary write several 100K word novels per year, in addition to shorter pieces. A four hundred, one hundred thousand word novel tends to be my personal — if not “comfort” level, at least my current production level. I’ve written shorter books and I’ve written longer (good lord!) but overall, 100K is right around where I like to be.
When I see or hear writers complaining about not being able to get word count, or running out of ideas, or getting blocked, well, I’ll admit to snobbery there, too. Hey, I write Monday through Thursday and sometimes Fridays, pretty much all day long and sometimes at night, too. I write occasionally on weekends, but not always. And I produce. I write quite a bit because that’s my JOB, so I have to. This means I’ve given up a lot of stuff I like to do, like playing the Sims 2 and other games, watching a lot of tv, and generally being lazy.
There are people who blow me out of the water, this is true. I don’t “work” as often as I used to because hey, I don’t have to. With both kids in school now, writing is my full time job, and I budget my time and workload so it mirrors a “real” job.
I’m lucky enough to be able to do it.
But before my kids went to school, I wrote around them. I spent even less time doing other stuff. And no, I didn’t have another job, so I do fully sympathize with those writers who parent, work a non-writing job and still try to write. I really do. (Though I always thought of my writing as a job even before I started getting paid the uber bucks. Oh, wait…I’m still waiting to be paid the uber bucks. Never mind.)
Anyway, I suffer from writing snobbery because I figure if I can do it, so can you. If I can put books out there, so can you. I mean, c’mon, I fart around a lot and procrastinate (blogging, for example!) but I still put my butt in the chair and get the words on the screen.
If I can do it, so can you.
And I’m just snobby enough to tell you so.

I’ll be at the RT Convention rocking the joint with Maverick Author , Lauren Dane but today I’m home and appearing in a few places all over blogland.
First, you can find an interview with me at Milady Insanity’s blog. Interesting answers to some of those questions, particularly about whether Dirty or Broken are romances or not romances. I think I summed it up best there, so if you want to know what I think, head on over to Milady’s blog and check it out.
Also, I’m guest blogging today at Romance By the Blog so take a peek and leave some comments…I’m giving away a signed copy of Broken to one lucky winner and it could be you!!
In other news, Broken has started shipping from both Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com and word from a good source says that today’s the day you’ll be able to find it in on the shelves, too! If you see it, won’t you take a picture and send it to me?
Also, I can’t forget to mention that last night’s Supernatural was funny and goofy and a leeetle skeery and oh, love, love, LOVE! *hearts Winchester boys*
Oh, PA Dean, how you own me. Oh, Bitch!face Sammy, how you own me! I don’t know what I’m going to do next week when it’s Thursday and I won’t be watching SPN…hmm…from 9-10 maybe I’ll have to sneak up to my hotel room and just watch it…hahahahahahha!!!
Happy Friday, all!
