JR WARD
JR WARD
JR WARD
I heard if you write JR WARD’s name in your blog, you’ll be swamped with traffic. I’m just trying it out.
LOVER REVEALED
I have to admit, I haven’t yet succumbed to the Brotherhood. I know there’s a lot of love and hate for the books, but I’ve remained relatively unspoiled and don’t know much about them or even the author. You can try to convince me why I should pick up the first one, though…I’m always ready to be convinced to love something new.

never read JR Ward… always notice ‘em on the shelf but have yet to pick one up to read. Probably because i struggle to keep pace with authors i’m already addicted to.

Haha, that’s what I’m afraid of…one more thing I can’t live without!

It’s true, Megan. You’ll see.

I notice you’re not trying to convince, me!

I have those books in my wish list. I need to get them – at least one – this Saturday. I’m going book shopping spree. Hehehe!

Ok, so when you read it I expect a full report about whether or not I should read it!

Oh, I didn’t try to convince you because I’m not a fan any more.
I may be one of the few people who fell in love and then fell out of love with Ward.
They are different. Great concept.
But as to execution? I think mostly you either love or hate them. My problem was that I felt her endings were getting deus ex machina, and her voice was beginning to irritate me.

Interesting. The love or hate thing, I mean. See…vampires…well, there are so many out there. What made hers so different?

The love or hate thing has to do with voice. It got old. I never ever want to hear “You feel me?” again.
Now that you ask me, I’m not really sure what made them so different. I picked them up because Lynn Viehl blurbed the series.
It’s sorta like, if you manage to fall in love with Ward, you see a perfect, solid white wall. That’s all I saw for awhile, then I started analyzing, there were holes and the wall collapsed.

ooh – look it worked – I’m here looking for JR Ward! Nah, not really. Actually I don’t really know who she (he?) is? – philistine that I am.

Ahh. I have things I love so much I don’t want to analyze them lest I find the flaws.
Though normally when I love something so much I dont’ mind dissecting it.

haha, Rebecca. Apparently JR WARD has a lot of power! Her name brings blog traffic!

I don’t know but I’m askeert to find out…
I’ll say this, that level of popularity is impressive and a little awe-inspiring. Good for her! I don’t know if I love or hate the books, but good, good, for her. She’s writing something (I hope) she loves and people are reading it.

Megan, there are authors who think she’s fabulous. She was a RITA finalist last year for the first book.

Shows what I know!
It proves, more than anything, that taste is subjective. And like I said, whether *I* love or hate the books (don’t know yet, haven’t tried one) — Good for her! Good for her success.

i personally am a huge J.R. Ward fan…the books sweep you into a whole other world yet seem so real. the characters may be vampires but they seem so human and they aren’t the typical “let me bite your neck sweety”- they can only thrive on the blood of the opposite sex of their race. i will be honest that when it comes to the bad guys, they tend to drone on and be agitating…but i just read those parts as fast as possible. But the brothers and their shellans (wifes)- they ROCK! If you like heat and passion, with a little bit of roughness and then some good fights you will love the Black Dagger Brotherhood!!

@amanda: Hi, Amanda, thanks for commenting. I’ve heard a lot of really great things about The Brotherhood. Haven’t picked on up yet, but I keep meaning to! People who love them really do love them, which is fantastic. I feel like I know the whole series just by comments, without having read a single word.
